poetry lights you up with understanding (think: bombs falling on a city at night)...i meant it, but also that poetry makes you feel understood. soul-to-soul kinship is rare in real life; poems remind you that it's possible.
yes. yes. it's the feeling of understanding. A sense of something that perhaps could not be articulated. But poetry sculpts the words in a way that allows you to sense a feeling within the meaning. yes. wise one.
can i maybe compare it to abstract art? cause that's how i feel with certain pieces - a sense of understanding and being understood - but with lines and colors and shapes and textures instead of words.
