unpleasant-news specialists

this day is dedicated to the unpleasant-news specialists (a term i borrow from the late david foster wallace), otherwise known as the technicians who work the graveyard shift at HP's india-based phone support center.

so you see, there is a reason i haven't been posting.

so far i have logged 6 hours of very kindly, if ineffective, phone support. the rest of my time has been spent frantically trying to make up for what i have missed of my day(s). if my child ever stops taking afternoon naps i will be doomed.

of course, i am hopeful that my super-chouette new $39 printer will be working by then.

christmas cards may be late (again) this year. but if i ever clear the FATAL ERROR DURING INSTALLATION!!! message from my computer screen, my awesome new phone friends will be getting one.

oh, and it was not my fault.

6 hours! Sheesh. what a trooper you are. I always just say, "Greeeeeeeeg, something's wrong with the computer."
